Rumour has it Disney wants to remake the 1997 animated movie Hercules, according to Disinsider. It will not be the first one, after successfully remaking ‘Aladdin’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘The Lion King’, ‘Jungle Book’ and the list goes on. The new movie will most probably be produced by Jeffery Silver, who previously worked on other Disney movies, like “The Lion King” and “Tron: Legacy”, and Karen Gilchrist, who also worked on “The Lion King” and the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian”.

There is not yet a director attached to the project, but rumour in the Disney hallway has it that either Gore Verbinski, Jon Favreau or the Russo Brothers will be positioned. Once that has taken place, more of the pre-production will become clear. Cast and crew would follow. Gore Verbinski is known from Pirates of the Caribbean, the Russo Brothers from multiple Marvel projects. Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus situation production on further advancements of films are put on hold until further notice. The meetings and developments are still conducted but via video conferencing.
